26 Dead In Uttarakhand Road Mishap, Dhami Takes Charge Of Disaster Control Room
Dehradun, June 6 (TNA) 26 persons have been confirmed dead and four critically wounded in the mishap in Uttarakhand where a buss full of pilgrims fell into a gorge late on Sunday. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh reached the disaster control room located at the Secretariat as soon as he received information about the bus accident on Yamunotri road near Damta on Sunday, an official said.
Condoling the bus accident, he directed the officials to expedite the relief and rescue operations. The Chief Minister has also prayed to God for peace to the souls of those killed in the accident and speedy recovery of the injured. He has also given instructions to the District Magistrate Uttarkashi for proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
The Chief Minister also took stock of the operational arrangements for disaster control and took information from the personnel on duty about the procedures related to the operation of the control room. The Chief Minister said that at present the yatra is at its peak. Along with the arrangements in the operation of travel, the work related to quick relief should be conducted in case of any untoward incident. An effective system should be made for this.
Apart from providing 24-hour information to the disaster control rooms from all the districts, he directed to make the disaster control rooms of the districts more active. The people in the accident bus were from Madhya Pradesh.
