65.68% Polling in IIIrd Phase, Highest In Assam: Election Commission of India
New Delhi, May 11 (TNA) The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday said that the voter turnout registered in phase 3 of the ongoing national elections was 65.68%. The poll panel also informed that repoll at two polling stations in Bihar and four polling stations in Madhya Pradesh in phase-3 has also concluded.
It however also clarified that the final turnout will only be available post-counting with counting of postal ballots and its addition to total vote count. Postal Ballots include Postal Ballots given to service voters, absentee voters (85+, PwD, Essential Services etc.) and voters on election duty. As per details shared by the ECI, Assam recorded the highest voter turn out of 85.45% in the third phase.
Chattisgarh recorded 71.98%, Bihar 59.15%, Dadar, Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu 71.31%, Goa 76.06%, Gujarat 60.13%, Karnataka 71.84%, Madhya Pradesh 66.75%, Maharashtra 63.55%, Uttar Pradesh 57.55% and West Bengal 77.53% polling. The highest woman polling percentage was from Assam, followed by West Bengal.
