Actor Gufi Paintal Who Essayed The Role Of Shakuni Mama In TV Serial Mahabharat Passes Away

Mumbai, June 5 (TNA) In tragic news coming in from Bollywood, famous actor Gufi Paintal, most popular for essaying the role of the wicked ‘Shakuni Mama’ in BR Chopra’s television serial ‘Mahabharat’ passed away on Monday. He was 78. Paintal was hospitalised last month with age-related problems and had been in critical condition since the past few days, a family friend told media.

He was earlier with the Indian Army but dropped out for his love and passion for acting. His elder brother Amarjeet Paintal was already in films, which further encouraged him to try his luck in the tinsel town.

He had also worked in many other TV serials like Akbar-Birbal, CID, Radha Krishna’ and had also worked in some Hindi films. He was also a casting director for some time and his last appearance was in television serial Jai Kanhaiyya Lal, which was aided on Star Plus.
