Air India Shows A Glimpse Of The New Uniform Of Cabin Crew And Pilots Designed By Manish Malhotra
New Delhi, December 13 (TNA) Air India on Tuesday unveiled the new uniforms for cabin crew and pilots designed by Manish Malhotra. Air India has shared the video of the new uniform through a post on social media. According to the video, the female cabin crew members of the airline will wear ombre sarees with a modern look, while the men will wear bandhgala suits.
For the cockpit crew, renowned designer Malhotra has designed classic black suits. The new uniform of Air India will be introduced in a phased manner over the next few months. First of all, it will be launched in the service of Air India's first Airbus A350.
The women cabin crew uniform includes a ready-to-wear ombre saree with intricate Jharokha pattern, blouse and blazer with Vista (Air India's new logo icon). The new uniform has been introduced with a blend of new and traditional style.
These ready to wear sarees can be alternatively worn with comfortable pants. The airline said in a press release that the move will provide more flexibility for female cabin crew to choose the style they most identify with. It would be a unique East-meets-Wests look.
The ombre saree for senior female cabin crew will be in an aubergine-to-burgundy colour, which will also include an aubergine blazer. Junior female cabin crew will wear vibrant red-violet sarees with red blazers. The cockpit crew's uniform, on the other hand, is a classic black double-breasted suit with a Vista-inspired print.
Talking about these designs, Manish Malhotra said that his aim is to create uniforms that capture the essence of India's diverse culture and traditions while also giving a modern and sophisticated look. He said, "I feel honored that I have got the opportunity to design the uniform for Air India."
