ASSOCHAM Office Bearers Visit Sulabh Campus In New Delhi

New Delhi, June 11 (TNA) A team of ASSOCHAM office bearers visited the Sulabh campus in the union capital on Friday. The team comprised of Kavita Sharma, Additional Director, ASSOCHAM and Dheeraj Pandey.

The guests were welcomed and felicitated by Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder, Sulabh Sanitation, Social Reform, Health & Hygiene and Human Rights Movement and the senior officials of Sulabh. The guests visited the Museum of Toilets and were awed by the rare collection of artifacts, pictures and objects, detailing the eye-opening historic evolution of toilets since 2500 B.C.

They also keenly observed the models of Sulabh’s innovative technology-based twin-pit pour-flush toilets; Public toilet linked biogas plant, Sulabh Water ATM which provides affordable and cheap water to the neighborhood.

Intensive discussions were held on construction and maintenance of public toilets under CSR at public places, most neglected hitherto. The discussions focused on the designing, materials used, execution and maintenance on a long-term basis. The detailed and precise presentation of facts assured her of a work of the highest order by Sulabh.

The guests were also highly impressed learning about Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak’s, life, struggles and ultimately triumphs, that changed the sanitation scenario of the country. Sulabh family wishes them the very best and hopes for a closer association in this vital field of health, hygiene and sanitation.
