Big Day For The Indian Aerospace Industry Today
Vadodara, October 28 (TNA) A big day for the Indian aerospace industry on Monday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez will jointly inaugurate the TATA Aircraft Complex to manufacture C-295 transport aircraft at the TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus in Vadodara.
As per the contract between the Ministry of Defence and Airbus Defence & Space SA, Spain, 56 C-295 aircraft will be supplied. Of the 16 being brought in fly-away condition from Spain, six have already been inducted at 11 Sqn based at Vadodara. The last would be delivered by August 2025.
TASL will build 40 aircraft in India, and this Final Assembly Line facility at Vadodara was built in less than two years. The First Made-in-India C-295 will be rolled out of the facility in September 2026, and the remaining by August 2031.
