Bombay High Court Grants Conditional Bail To Actress Rhea Chakraborty

MUMBAI || Almost a month after her arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drug case, film actress Rhea Chakraborty was on Wednesday granted conditional bail by the Bombay High Court. A special NDPS court on Tuesday had extended her judicial custody till October 20. He brother however will continue to be in prison.

She will have to furnish a personal bond of Rs one lakh, present herself before the police station, not leave Mumbai and not go abroad.

She was arrested on September 8 by the NCB on charges of organizing drugs for Bollywood actor and her boy friend Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. She was accused of being "an active member of a drugs syndicate" and financing drugs bought for Sushant Singh Rajput, her boyfriend.

In her bail petition, Rhea Chakraborty alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput "took advantage of those closest to him to sustain his drug habit" and that she and her brother are sole targets of a witch-hunt.
