BSF Detects 20-Metre-Long Tunnel Near Border Fence In Jammu
JAMMU || A Border Security Force (BSF) patrol on Saturday detected a 20-metre-long tunnel just beneath the India-Pakistan International Border fence in Jammu. As soon as the tunnel was discovered, an official informed, a hunt was launched to find out if similar ones were there along the border. The tunnel is about 50 metres from the border fence on the Indian side in the Samba sector.
BSF fears that the trench had been built to facilitate the infiltration across the border by the Pakistan side. BSF Director General Rakesh Asthana has directed his frontier commanders to ensure that the anti-infiltration grid is intact and there are no gaps along this front, officials added.
Media reports say that the BSF officials while examining the tunnel found plastic sandbags on its mouth which had "Pakistani markings" on them.
