Bus Falls Into Deep Gorge In Chattisgarh’s Raipur, 12 Killed
Raipur, April 10 (TNA) A bus filled with employees fell into a 50-foot-deep gorge on Raipur-Durg road in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday night. Durg Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary has confirmed the death of 12 people. Currently, 15 are injured. Of these, the condition of 10 is critical. Three women are among the dead.
The Collector has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the accident. At the same time, Kedia Distillery has said that Rs 10 lakh each will be given to the dependents of the deceased, job to one member and to bear the entire cost of treatment of the injured. All the injured have been admitted to AIIMS and other medical facilities.
According to the information, the accident took place in the Murum mine on Khapri Road in Kumhari. Kedia Distillery employees were returning from the plant in a bus. 40 people were travelling on the bus during the accident. It is feared that the death toll may increase. The rescue operation was done with the help of torches and mobile flashlights as the area where the mishap took place had no electricity.
