Lucknow, January 26 (TNA) There is no relief in sight from the severe cold in Uttar Pradesh. On Friday, dense fog has been reported in different cities of the state. Visibility was 100 meters in Lucknow and Kanpur. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of dense fog in 40 districts of UP and an orange alert in 35 districts.

There is dense fog in Lucknow, Kanpur, Aligarh and Bahraich. According to the Meteorological Department, the cold wave will affect Bijnor, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Saharanpur, and Shamli. Kanpur once again remained the coldest city in the state.

The night temperature here was recorded at 3°C. The temperature was recorded at 3.5°C in Meerut, 3.6°C in Muzaffarnagar and 3.8°C in Chitrakoot. At the same time, the hottest district in UP was Banda. The maximum temperature here was 22.6°C. Due to a weak western disturbance, the average temperature of Uttar Pradesh has dipped in the last 24 hours. An average drop of 10°C in maximum temperature and 5°C in minimum temperature was recorded.

An orange alert of dense fog has been sounded for Aligarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Badaun, Baghpat, Ballia, Barabanki, Bulandshahr, Chandauli, Etah, Farrukhabad, Firozabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Ghazipur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Jaunpur, Kannauj, Kasganj, Lucknow, Mainpuri. , Mathura, Mau, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Sambhal, Sultanpur, Unnao, Fatehpur and Varanasi.

Train operations have been completely derailed due to fog. This can be gauged from the fact that 99 trains including Shramshakti, Rajdhani and Shatabdi reached Kanpur station late by 20 hours. Due to this, 3044 passengers got their tickets cancelled. 151 passengers were permitted to travel by alternative trains. Due to fog from Thursday night till morning, 29 bus services running from the Jhakarkati bus stand were cancelled whereas 27 buses ran late by 3 to 5 hours.
