Corona Cases On The Rise As 610 XBB.1.16 Variant Patients Detected
New Delhi, March 28 (TNA) Is the corona virus once again spreading its foot in India? Sadly yes seems to be the answer as data being collected from various states shows a steady growth in the number of cases in the past few days.
According to INSACOG data, a total of 610 cases of the XBB.1.16 variant of Covid have been detected across the country. It is believed that these cases may be the reason behind the growing crisis of corono virus recently.
What do the INSACOG figures say?
The samples have been found in 11 states and union territories. According to INSACOG data, the highest number of Covid-19 cases due to this variant have been found in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
164 cases have been registered in both the states. After this, 93 cases have been reported in Telangana and 86 in Karnataka. The XBB 1.16 variant was first detected in January, when two samples tested positive.
Recently India is witnessing a spurt in COVID-19 cases. India recorded 1,805 new coronavirus cases, while the active cases crossed the 10,000-mark after 134 days, according to the health ministry's data updated on Monday. More than one thousand cases of corona have been reported for the sixth consecutive day.
