LUCKNOW || Cricketer Suresh Raina has done both Uttar Pradesh and India proud by his sporting outings and records and he is also known for being very compassionate and kind-hearted.
This trait of the 33-year-old from Muradnagar has once again come to the fore as he has proposed to offer cricketing opportunity for underprivileged kids living in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a letter on Wednesday, the former cricketer who hung his boots recently, to the DGP of J&K, Dilbag Singh, Raina has said that he writes with "much hope and expectation t start and promote cricket" in the region.
"I have etched a mark on the field of international cricket for more than 15-years and thus I would like to take use of the knowledge and skills I have learnt over the years to the next generation" the cricketer wrote.
Acknowledging that this required an "immense amount of efforts and process" including talent hunt from schools, colleges and rural areas of J&K, organising master classes, mental toughness courses, physical fitness and skill training, Raina concludes the letter by saying that he was "determined to use this opportunity in creating a promising tomorrow for our country though these children".
