Eminent Composer-Singer Bappi Lahiri Dies In Mumbai Hospital At 69
Mumbai, February 16 (TNA) Already mourning the recent demise of Lata Mangeshkar, the Bollywood and music industry was jolted on Wednesday morning as eminent composer and music director Bappi Lahiri passed away. The end came at a Mumbai hospital where he had been admitted on Tuesday. He was 69.
He is credited with popularising disco music in India in the 80s and 90s and had belted out many superhit songs. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight, his doctor said. Bappi Lahiri has delivered popular songs in several films of the late 1970s-80s like 'Chalte Chalte’, ‘I am a disco dancer’.
He had recovered from Covid in April last year.
