Shimla, July 14 (TNA) Keeping in mind impending dangers of monsoon disasters, the Kullu district administration today imposed blanket ban on all kind of adventure activities linked to tourism in the entire district including famous tourist destinations Manali, Rohtang and Solang valley.

“We have announced a ban on all kind of adventure activities in Kullu district till September 15 of this year, fearing risk to the lives of tourists and locals during monsoon season. Otherwise too, this bar stays on the adventure tourism during rainy days as it’s done once in a year,” said Ashutosh Garg, the Deputy Commissioner, Kullu on Tuesday.

Large number of tourists from across the country visit Kullu to enjoy adventure activities including river rafting in Beas, paragliding in Solang, trekking and hiking in the entire hilly region of the district.

With the ease of the covid restrictions in Himachal Pradesh after June 6 of this year, the largest number of tourists has come to Kullu and Manali to break the monotony of their indoor and restricted life during the pandemic phase.

In the month of June alone over 1.5lakh tourists visited Kullu and Manli, providing a brisk business to the thousands of hoteliers and adventure tourism dependent local youth.
