Four Killed, 40 Missing In J&K's Kishtwar, Rescue Operation Underway

Srinagar, July 28 (TNA) Four persons have died in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir after a cloud burst which brought massive rains and inundated the villages, an official said on Wednesday. More than 40 people have gone missing.

Union minister Jitendra Singh informed the media that he has spoken to Ashok Sharma, the district magistrate of Kishtwar and he has informed that relief and rescue operations were underway following the incident. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the army has been pressed into relief and rescue operations.

The central government is closely monitoring the situation. This is a developing story, more details are awaited.
