Fuel Shortage In Rajasthan As Petroleum Dealers Association Goes On Two-Day Strike
Jaipur, March 10 (TNA) Availability of petrol and diesel across the state of Rajasthan was hit on Sunday as the Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association has called for a statewide strike. Amongst other demands is the state government’s decision not to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel. In this regard, from March 10 to March 12, no dealer in the state will buy or sell petrol and diesel in any way.
After the announcement of the strike, lines of vehicles were seen filling petrol and diesel at petrol pumps in many districts of the state on Saturday. This two-day strike of petrol pumps started in the morning and will continue till the morning of March 12.
In a virtual meeting of the executive members of the Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association, issues like not reducing VAT on petrol and diesel, not increasing dealer commission by oil companies and forced supply of lube oil and premium products were discussed in detail. Presidents, secretaries and RPDA executive members of all the districts were present in the meeting.
A silent rally of dealers will also be taken out from Statue Circle to the Secretariat on March 11 in Jaipur regarding these demands. A letter to this effect has been issued with the signature of Rajendra Singh Bhati, President of Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association.
