Gadar 2 Shatters Records, Eyes Rs 400 Crore Club
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 continues its box office domination. The film, a sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, has stormed past box office records since its release.
On its 9th day, the movie collected an impressive Rs 31.07 crore, surpassing Baahubali 2’s previous record of Rs 26.5 crore on its 2nd Saturday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed Gadar 2 has now amassed a total of Rs 336.20 crore in India. The film is poised to join the Rs 350 crore club and might even breach the Rs 400 crore mark.
Released on August 11, Gadar 2 reunites Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in a sequel set against the 1971 Indo-Pak war. With the grown-up Charan Jeet Singh (Utkarsh Sharma), the story delves into family dynamics amidst war-torn landscapes.
Amidst the triumph, rumours swirl of another sequel for Sunny Deol, with Border 2 reportedly in the works. The original Border, directed by JP Dutta, released in 1997, chronicling the 1971 war as well. However, the team is yet to confirm or deny these reports.
