Government Makes Driving Licenses Issuance Easy, Private Entities Now Can Also Issue Them

Lucknow, August 5 (TNA) Tired of the long wait and arduous process on getting. Driving license? Relax for now it has become very easy to get a driving license. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made it easier by changing the existing rules for issuing driving licenses.

Under the new rule, various entities, including private vehicle manufacturers, automobile associations, non-profit organizations (NGOs) or legal private firms, are allowed to run accredited driver training centers.

They will then be able to issue driving licenses to those who complete the prescribed training course. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification in this regard.

The process of issuing driving licenses by Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) however will also continue with the new facility of issuing driving licenses as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry.

The Ministry in a statement has said: "Applications for recognition of legitimate entities such as companies, NGOs, private establishments/Automobile Associations/Vehicle Manufacturers Associations/Autonomous Bodies/Private Vehicle Manufacturer Driver Training Centers (DTCs) will be able to issue licenses now. "
