Heavy Rains In Uttarakhand, Rail Track Between Rampur-Kathgodam Caves In, Many Trains Cancelled

Dehradun, Oct 19 (TNA) Due to incessant rains in Uttarakhand, railway track between Rampur Kathgodam has caved in due to which Railways has cancelled a total of four pairs (eight trains) including the New Delhi-Kathgodam Shatabdi, an official said on Tuesday.

The North Eastern Railway canceled the Kathgodam-Delhi Sampark Kranti (05036-35) from Kathgodam to Dehradun, Naini Jan Shatabdi (02092-91). Apart from Ramnagar-Moradabad Passenger the pair passenger train between Moradabad to Kathgodam has also been cancelled.

Apart from this, instructions have been also issued to cancel the Bagh Express - 03019 coming from Howrah to Kathgodam at Rampur and Ranikhet-05013 going from Jaisalmer to Kathgodam at Rudpur on Tuesday. Whereas Shatabdi-02040 going from New Delhi to Kathgodam was canceled at Moradabad.

Moradabad Senior DCM Sudhir Singh says that due to the closure of the rail route, the trains were short terminated in the division.
