J&K Cadre In Civil Services Abolished By The Modi Government
New Delhi, January 8 (TNA) The Government of India on Thursday abolished the Jammu & Kashmir cadre in the Civil Services. An order related to this has also been issued with regards to this, an official said.
The Center has issued a notification for amendment in the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019. Under the new order, IAS, IPS and IFS officers of Jammu and Kashmir will henceforth be part of the AGMUT cadre (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories cadre).
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir cadre officers were not appointed in other states. After the new order, now the officers of Jammu and Kashmir will be appointed in another state as well.
It may be noted that in the month of August 2019, the Modi government of the Center decided to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Simultaneously, Jammu and Kashmir was converted into two union territories (Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh).
The central government's focus is on the development of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. This is the reason why Manoj Sinha has been appointed as the Deputy Governor who is very close to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The central government has taken several important decisions regarding both the states.
