Massive Fire In Shri Krishna Oyo Hotel At Dwarka In New Delhi Kills Two
New Delhi, August 15 (TNA) Fire in a hotel in south Delhi's Dwarka area killed two on Sunday morning, police said.
The fire broke out in the wee hours at the Shri Krishna Oyo Hotel B - 260 sec 8, Dwarka, New Delhi, near Mother Dairy. On receiving information, the Police station Dwarka rushed a team and fire tenders were also intimated of the blaze.
No hotel staff was found present when the police reached. Subesequently, FSL and crime team were also called at the spot. After extinguishing the fire, two dead bodies - one male and one female were found on the stair case of the ground floor and both were shifted to DDU Hospital.
During enquiry this Oyo Hotel was found being run by one Sunil Gupta who had further sub-let it to Harshit of Dashrath Puri. The owner of the building are Sidharth and Karuna from Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was also found that this hotel had been prosecuted U/S 28/112 DP Act twice and a case of U/S 188 IPC has also been registered.
One person namely Lokesh age 21 years who stayed in the hotel who is eye witness stated that in the midnight there was a short circuit and light came after half an hour. When he wake up about 7 o clock in the morning he found huge smoke inside the hotel and found that there is the fire at ground floor and reception and he heard electric blasting. Action is being taken, an official informed.
