Dehradun, Sep 16 (TNA) The Nainital High Court on Thursday removed its stay on the annual Chaar Dham Yatra in the hill state, but with certain conditions. The HC had stayed the yatra that draws lakhs every year who visit Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri shrines as part of the Chaar Dham Yatra.

The stay was due to the ongoing Covid pandemic. The state government had urged the HC to call off the ban citing various reasons including the poor condition of the people involved in the pilgrimage, specially their financial problems.

The HC said that per day only 800 pilgrims will be allowed to travel to Kedarnath, 1200 to Badrinath, 600 to Gangotri and 400 to Yamunotri and no one will be allowed to take a dip in any of the Kunds anywhere. The government has also assured the court of releasing fresh SOP's for the travellers.
