Navy Personnel Clear Ocean Of Plastic Waste

Kochi, June 17 (TNA) Personnel from INS Sagardhwani based at SNC, Kochi undertook clearance of plastic waste from the Arabian Sea off Kochi Harbour recently, an official informed. Approximately 10 kg of plastic waste was removed from the sea during the cleanup drive.

This initiative is part of Indian Navy’s campaign of 100 ship days at sea to free oceans and seas from plastic. INS Sagardwani is a Marine Acoustic Research Vessel of NPOL/DRDO. It was indigenously built at M/s Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE), Calcutta and commissioned in 1994.

The vessel is run and maintained by the Indian Navy for DRDO and based at SNC, Kochi.
