Nightingale Of India Falls Silent, Lata Mangeshkar Passes Away At 92

Mumbai, February 6 (TNA) India lost its most melodious and prominent playback voice on Sunday as legendary Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the Breach Candy hospital after a month of hospitalization after testing positive for Covid.

The news of the demise of the iconic singer, often referred to as the ‘Nightingale of India’ and Melody Queen’ plunged music lovers across the world into unprecedented mourning.

Politicians, social workers, common people from all walks of life have expressed their sorrow at the death of Lata ji. PM Modi led the nation in paying tributes to the 92-year-old singer. The national flag will fly at half-mast for two days, as a mark of respect for the legendary singer.

Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital in January with Covid-19 and pneumonia. On January 8, she was taken to intensive care unit. Even after recovering from Covid, the singer was put on ventilator support after her condition worsened on Saturday.
