Nitin Gadkari Takes Stock Of Rescue Ops Underway At Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, November 20 (TNA) Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari along with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an on-site inspection of the Silkyara Tunnel and reviewed the rescue operation being conducted to rescue the workers trapped in the tunnel.

During this, he said that every possible effort will be made by the best experts available in the country and the world to rescue the people trapped in the tunnel. He talked about working on every rescue option with high efficiency and promptness.

He also met the families of the workers trapped in the tunnel and assured that the government is engaged in the rescue operation with full force and determination. In view of the difficulties faced in the initial phase of the rescue operation, work has now been started on all possible options simultaneously.

The Union Minister reviewed the rescue operation by holding a meeting with the organizations and administration officials involved in the rescue and also discussed in detail about new options and possibilities. He said that this rescue should be implemented immediately by using the highest efficiency, experience and resources available in the country and the world.

The meeting was attended by officials of the district administration as well as officials of various organizations including Army, RVNL, SJVNL, ONGC, BRO, THDC.
