Notorious Kanpur History Sheeter Held In Delhi, Carried A Reward Of Rs One Lakh
Kanpur, March 1 (TNA) Barra police station's history-sheeter Ajay Thakur, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, was arrested by the SWAT team of DCP South from Delhi. DCP Ravindra Kumar himself is returning to the city with him. Ajay was absconding after he attacked and stoned an Apna Dal rally on January 28. In search of him, the police team had reached the Attari border a few days ago but Ajay had fled from there.
The criminal history of Ajay Thakur, a resident of Jarauli Phase-One, was increasing day by day. In the year 2016, the first case was registered against him at Barra police station for assaulting a youth, demanding money and threatening him. After this, in the same year, five cases were registered against Ajay under sections of assault, Arms Act and extortion.
After coming out on bail, he formed his gang, through which he used to extort money from minor students and through his associates, he used to extort money by luring minor girls and women. From the year 2016 to January 31, 2024, 26 cases have been registered against Ajay Thakur in Barra, Govind Nagar, Kidwai Nagar, Naubasta police station under sections including rape, attempt to murder, gangster, rebellion, IT Act, and criminal conspiracy.
Ajay was released from jail on bail only last month in an assault case. After this, to maintain supremacy, on January 28, along with his colleagues, he pelted stones, vandalized and carried out a deadly attack on Apna Dal SK workers and officials in Jarauli. Then a case of attempt to murder was registered against him and he absconded.
Ajay used to switch off his mobile phone and make internet calls from another mobile. Sometimes he used to make messenger calls and sometimes through WhatsApp calls and contacted some of his close ones and acquaintances to get information about all the activities of the police.
According to sources, Ajay was also in contact with some white-collared and influential people. Through them, he was putting pressure on the police officers not to shoot him and to surrender. On January 30, a case was registered under POCSO against the accused including Ajay Thakur, his associate Anshu Singh Sengar, and Abhay Bhadauria, who carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh and demanded money for circulating the video of a girl taking a bath in Barra area.
