Rouse Avenue Court Frames Charges Against Sajjan Kumar In The 1984 Sikh Riots Case

New Delhi, August 23 (TNA) The Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday framed charges against 1984 riots accused Sajjan Kumar. He has been charged for killing Sikhs in Janakpuri and Vikaspuri during 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots in Delhi, that followed the assasination of the then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her own Sikh bodyguards.

The Rouse Avenue Court has invoked IPC sections 147,148,153A, 295R/W149, against Sajjan Kumar and charges have been framed under sections 307,308, 323, 325, 395,436. Section 302 of murder was also imposed against him by the SIT, which was removed by the court. The next date of the hearing on the matter by the Rcourt has been fixed for September 21.

The Court was also apprised by the prosecution that the Congress leader Sajjan Kumar is not in custody in this case and is out on bail in this case.
