SC Issues Notice To UP On Premature Release Of Jailed Former UP Minister Amarmani Tripathi And His Wife
New Delhi, August 25 (TNA) The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh government on its order to release former UP Minister Amarmani Tripathi and his wife, who have been in jail for almost twenty years now.
The apex court issued the notice on the plea of deceased poetess Madhumita Shukla’s sister against the “premature” release of jailed former UP Minister Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumani Tripathi.
The couple has been serving life sentences at the Gorakhpur district jail for their involvement in murder of poetess Madhumita at her Lucknow residence on May 9, 2003. Supreme Court however also did not pass any order against the release of the Tripathi couple.
