New Delhi, May 8 (TNA) The Supreme Court of India (SC) on Monday snubbed senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari while refusing to hear a petition moved by her on an urgent basis and said that every other day some officers come to the court for directions even in serious cases.

Expressing displeasure, CJI NV Ramana said that now every day the orders of Allahabad HC are violated and observed that this had become a routine. The Allahabad High Court had last week issued a non-bailable warrant against Noida CEO Ritu Maheshwari. Taking cognizance of the act of contempt of court against him, the High Court had ordered to be produced before the court in police custody on May 13.

The Supreme Court said that if you do not follow the order of the HC, then you will have to face the consequences. Maheshwari's lawyer in the Supreme Court sought interim relief in the matter, demanding an early hearing in the matter. On this, the Supreme Court said that you are an IAS officer, you know the rules, if you do not follow the order of the HC then you will have to face the consequences.
