SC Trashes Social Media Post Attributed To Chief Justice Chandrachud, Terms It “Fake, Ill-intended And Mischievous”

New Delhi, August 14 (TNA) The public relations office of the Supreme Court of India on Monday denied a post on social platforms in which the chief justice of India, DY Chandrachud has been quoted as saying to protest agains the authorities.

“It has come to the notice of the SC that a social media post (invoking the public to protest against authorities) using a file photo and falsely quoting the CJI is being circulated”, a statement said.

It further went on to state that the post is “fake, ill-intended and mischievous”. No such post has been issued by the CJI nor has he authorised any such post, the PR office of the apex court further said.

It added that “appropriate action is being taken in this regard with the law enforcement agencies”.
