Shilpa Shetty Breaks Her Silence: Says She Has Full Faith In Mumbai Police, Requests For Privacy
Mumbai, August 2 (TNA) Bollywood actress and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty, whose husband Raj Kundra was arrested last week for alleged production of pornographic films, broke her silence on Monday as called for privacy. In a statement issued on her Twitter handle, the actress said "the past few days have been challenging, on every front".
Adding that "there have been a lot of rumours and accusations. A lot of unwarranted aspersions on me cast by the media and (not so) well wishers as well. A lot of trolling/questions posed.... not only to me but also to my family."
She further clarified that he stand, which she has not stated till now, was that the matter was subjudice and hence she would refrain from any comments on the case. She also requested people, media not attribute false quotes on her behalf.
Reiterating her philosophy as a celebrity of "Never complain, never explain", she said she full faith in the Mumbai police and the Indian judiciary. As family however, she added, "we are taking recourse to all our available legal remedies."
As a mother she went on to request people "to respect our privacy for my children's sake and request you to refrain from commenting on half-baked information without verifying the veracity of the same." She closed her statement by saying that "We don't deserve a media trial, let the law take its course."
She signed off her statement with a "Satyamev Jayate" (Truth Will Win).
