SUV Slips In Deep Gorge On Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, 10 Killed

Srinagar, March 29 (TNA) An SUV slipped and fell into a deep gorge in Ramban district of Jammu division on Friday. Ten people died in the accident. Officials said the vehicle was coming from Srinagar towards Jammu. The SUV fell into a 300 feet deep gorge in the Battery Chashma area of the district at around 1.15 am.

Officials said ten people had died. Police and State Disaster Response Force personnel are at the spot. Bodies of 10 passengers have been seen amid heavy rain.

The official further informed that the deceased included car driver Balwan Singh (47) of Amb Gharota in Jammu and Vipin Mukhiya Bhairgang of West Champaran in Bihar. Officials said that the rescue operation is going on. Prime Minister Naremdra Modi has mourned the loss of lives in the mishap.
