Timely Action By Uttarakhand Police Saves Hyderabad Man Who Had Come To Haridwar To End His Life
Dehradun, August 23 (TNA) Prompt action by the Uttarakhand police on Sunday saved a precious life. It so happened that the director general of Uttarakhand Police received an SOS call from the Hyderabad police that a mentally distressed man from their city had gone to Haridwar with an intention to end his life in the holy city.
The Hyderabad cops also informed the DGP Ashok Kumar that the man was staying at some hotel with a prefix Ganga to it. Taking immediate cognisance of this, the DGP directed SSP Haridwar to look out for that person. Eventually the hard work paid off and within just 40 minutes the said person was found in a disturbed state by the policemen from a room in Hotel Ganga Ejor.
Police men escorted him out and counselled him that life was too precious to be wasted like this. He was also asked to give up thoughts of negativity like suicide and he after much prodding relented.
When that person's state of mind returned to normal, the police called his brother residing in Roorkee, Haridwar and handed him over. When he reached to pick up the person, tears of joy came from his eyes and he expressed his gratitude towards the sensitivity of the DGP and the Uttarakhand police.
