Troubles Mount For Delhi CM As ED Sends Seventh Summon To Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi, February 22 (TNA) Trouble Delhi CM's troubles may increase ED has sent the seventh summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the Delhi liquor scam. ED has already sent six summons to Kejriwal, but for some reason or the other the Delhi CM has not appeared before the ED. Now Arvind Kejriwal's troubles may increase with the issuance of the seventh summons.
There are allegations of alleged money laundering in the Delhi liquor scam and ED has issued summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the same case. Earlier on February 14 also, ED had sent summons to Kejriwal for questioning, but Kejriwal did not appear before the ED even on the sixth summons. Earlier, on November 2, December 21 last year and on January 3, January 18 and February 2 this year, ED had issued summons to Kejriwal for questioning.
It is alleged that the liquor traders to whom the Delhi government had issued licenses under the excise policy for 2021-22 had paid bribes for it and also the licenses were issued only to the liquor traders of their choice. However, Aam Aadmi Party has denied these allegations. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had scrapped the liquor policy due to irregularities and recommended a CBI inquiry. ED had also registered a case on charges of alleged money laundering.
