Two Pilots Killed As An Indian Army Chopper Crashes In Arunachal Pradesh
New Delhi, March 16 (TNA) An Indian Army chopper that crashed near Mandala in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday morning claimed the lives of the pilot and the co-pilot.
The pilot duo has been identified as Lieutenant Colonel VVB Reddy and Major Jayanth A. The aircraft lost contact with the Air Traffic Controller at 9:15 am and soon after five search parties of Indian Army, Sashastra Seema Bal and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were sent to locate the pilots and the flying bird.
The wreckage of the aircraft was found near Village Banglajaap East of Mandala, an official said. The chopper had taken off from Sange village in the district at 9 am and was headed for Missamari in Assam's Sonitpur district.
