Uttarakhand CM Inaugurates Maa Surkhanda Devi Temple Ropeway Service

Dehradun, May 1 (TNA) Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday inaugurated Siddhpeeth Maa Surkanda Devi Temple ropeway service and prayed for the state's happiness and prosperity by offering prayers at the shrine.

The length of the ropeway built at a cost of about ₹ 5 crore is 502 meters. Surkanda Devi Temple Ropeway Service is the first important ropeway project after the formation of the state of Uttarakhand, and has been constructed by the State Tourism Department. Chief Minister Dhami said that the beginning of ropeway service for Mother Surkanda Devi will facilitate the devotees and will also increase the livelihood of the people at the local level.

He directed the District Magistrate Tehri to identify the land for the construction of a permanent helipad in this area. The CM further added that the ropeway project is a major means of pollution free transport for the commuters and tourists. Action is being taken by the state government for the construction of various ropeway projects in the districts under the Parvatmala scheme of the Centre.
