Uttarakhand SDRF Transports Body Of West Bengal Trekker From 4617 Metres Height

Dehradun, Nov 3 (TNA) Recently a 10-member trekkers group went for trekking from West Bengal on Kedarnath-Ransi trek, where one of the trekkers died on Mahapanth call (4617 m). The spot was about 12 km from Shri Kedarnath.

“It was not possible to bring back the dead body of the said person amidst continuous heavy snowfall, inaccessible road and other odd conditions” an official of the SDRF said.But, SDRF High Altitude Rescue Expert team worked efficiently even in extreme conditions” and on Thursday SDRF's High Altitude Rescue Expert team showing indomitable courage, bypassing their personal safety did the impossible.

They reached the scene of the incident, after jumping 8 feet from the first helicopter to the ground surface. The place was made on a thick sheet of ice for the landing of the heli, after that the body of the said person was recovered and transported to Guptkashi through the chopper.
