Water Precious And At The Core Of Our Survival: Bandaru Dattatreya
Chandigarh, March 21 (TNA) Haryana Governor, Bandaru Dattatreya has said that water was precious for us and also at the core of our survival and sustainable development. The Governor was addressing as the chief guest at the National Conclave of Water Conservation and Mahajal Mela program at Gurugram University in Gurugram on Monday. This program was organized by a private organization working for water conservation.
Dattatreya further said that while working with full seriousness, the Central and Haryana Governments are continuously making efforts through various schemes in the direction of water conservation. These efforts will be meaningful only when more and more common people will contribute in this. He called upon the people of the state that we all have to think about water management along with water conservation.
He also administered oath to the students and said, “The students can play an important role in creating mass awareness about the conservation of water. Each of us should resolve to plant more and more trees and ensure that no drop of water is wasted”.
After administering the oath of water conservation to the students of the university in the programme, the Governor said in his address that nature has blessed us with precious things, in which water is also there. He said that we are to conserve and manage water in such a way that there is no shortage in water availability from nature.
