On Thursday it made another strong pitch and said that if voted to power, the party will spend 25% budget on education. This is huge by any standards in a country like India where education is not a priority sector, experts say.

The announcement was made by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who said that the party was very serious to change the education scenario in Uttar Pradesh.

As Delhi’s education minister, Sisodia, is credited with changing the state of government schools in Delhi under the two successive AAP governments led by Arvind Kejriwal.
