1 min read

Lucknow, April 25 (TNA) Harsh summers have forced a change of school timings in Uttar Pradesh. This decision will be implemented in schools from classes one to eight, an official said. The timings of the council and recognized schools of classes one to eight in the state have been changed and now all schools will run from 7.30 am to 1 pm.

Yatindra Kumar, Special Secretary, Basic Education Department, in a letter sent to the Director of Basic Education, has asked to ensure its complete compliance. Presently the school timings are from 8 am to 2 pm. Given the scorching heat, teachers and parents have been demanding change in school timings for some time now. Earlier, in some districts, BSA had also made changes at their level but it was cancelled since there was no formal order from the state government.
