Matter Of Fining Schools For Not Refunding 15% Fees During Covid Ordered By Allahabad HC To be Heard By SC On May 8
New Delhi, April 28 (TNA) The issue of fining of schools as much as Rs one lakh, in many districts of Uttar Pradesh for not complying with the orders of the Allahabad High Court (HC) that 15% fees charges by schools during the Covid pandemic be returned to the parents, on Friday reached the Supreme Court. Private schools of Noida have approached the apex court, seeking its intervention.
The Supreme Court accepted to hear the plea and has fixed May 8 as the date of hearing the matter. The Noida DM had recently fined several private schools for not complying with the orders of the Allahabad HC. The Lucknow District Inspector of Schools (DIoS) on Friday issued a notice to all schools, seeking details of fee refund and compliance f the Allahabad HC orders.
In many other districts too similar notices and warning have been issued to private schools and management of these schools has gone in a tailspin following the cracking of the whip by officials of the state government.
