Noida DM Slaps Fine Of Rs One Lakh Each On 50 Schools For Not Refunding Fees Of Covid Period As Ordered By Allahabad HC
Noida, April 26 (TNA) Taking a grim view of many schools in the district for not adhering to a recent ruling of the Allahabad High Court with regards to refusnd of school fees during the Covid period, the district magistrate of Noida has cracked whip on errant schools.
Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has slapped a fine of Rs one lakh on 50 such schools who have not refunded 15% fees to parents, as mandated by the Allahabad HC.
The Allahabad High Court had ordered that all schools will refund 15 percent of the fees charged in the Corona period session 2021-22 to the parents. Even after instructions, the order of the court was not being followed by school managements across.Some schools have said in response that during the Corona period, they themselves had given 20 to 30 percent discount to the parents, so that discount should be included in the court order.
In this regard, the District Magistrate has written a letter to the government seeking directives. Even after the order, more than 50 schools have been fined one lakh each, out of which the schools did not return 15 percent money to the parents.
The District Magistrate has also issued an order that if the school management does not return 15 percent of the fees to the parents within a month, then a fine of five lakhs will be imposed on the schools again.
