PM Modi To Attend 54th Convocation Of IIT-Kanpur

Kanpur, December 23 (TNA) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the 54th Convocation of the Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, which is being held on December 28. An official said hectic preparations were underway to make the event a memorable one, more so since the prime minister was presiding over it.

The Convocation will be held in a hybrid mode. The students can attend the ceremony either in person or virtually on the online platform to be made available for this purpose. Students who attend the ceremony virtually will receive their degrees through speed post.

The Convocation will be held in the Institute Auditorium in three sessions in which the first session would be attended by 300-350 UG and PG Students selected through lottery. President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal (UG 5 Year programme), Director’s Gold Medal (PG 4 Year programme), Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Medal will be given in this session.

A full-scale rehearsal of the first two sessions of the Convocation Ceremony will be held in the Auditorium on Monday, December 27, 2021.
