New Delhi, February 23 (TNA) The Supreme Court (SC) has refused to entertain a petition seeking cancellation of offline board exams for class 10th and 12th to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and other boards.

Dismissing the petition, the top court said such petitions mislead and give false hopes to the children.

Apart from CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, the petition had sought a ban on physically conducting board examinations of class 10th and class 12th in all states.

The petition was filed seeking a direction to cancel the proposed physical (sitting in the classrooms) examinations of the board of classes 10th and 12th and to declare the results by alternative evaluation method like last year. Advocate Prashant Padmanabhan had requested for an early hearing.
