New Delhi, February 8 (TNA) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP from Pilibhit In Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday once again trained his guns on his party and questioned the appointment of the new vice-chancellor of the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

In a stinging tweet, the lawmaker termed the appointment of Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, “mediocre” and added that such appointments “serve to damage our human capital & our youth’s future”. He also attached a press release issued by the JNU as a “message of the VC-JNU”.

“This press release from the new JNU VC is an exhibition of illiteracy, littered with grammatical mistakes (would strive vs will strive;students friendly vs student-friendly;excellences vs excellence)”, Varun Gandhi said.

Off late he has been very vocal against decisions of his party including handling of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and the farmers unrest.

Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, a former member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has been appointed as the first woman vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, a senior official from the ministry of education (MoE) said on February 7.

Pandit is currently serving as the vice-chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University in Maharashtra. The 59-year-old is an alumnus of JNU. She pursued her MPhil and PhD in International Relations at JNU.
