Israeli-invented Drip Irrigation System Donated To Girls School In Noida
Noida, August 5 (TNA) The Embassy of Israel in India donated a state-of-the-art drip irrigation system to Nehru Smarak Inter College, a girls school in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. This innovative technology will lead to optimal water usage and conservation in the school campus and also encourage students to save water from a younger age.
Rony Yedidia Clein, Chargé d'affaires at the Embassy of Israel in India said, “We are happy to donate Israeli-invented drip irrigation technology to Nehru Smarak Inter College to assist them in their water conservation efforts. This is another example of the multifaceted partnership between Israel and India in the fields of education and water. We are keen to share our most advanced, innovative, and cutting-edge water technologies with the people of India.”
The Embassy also donated capsicum seedlings to the school. Students and teachers, along with volunteers from Aarohan NGO, came together to plant these seedlings in the campus of the school. The Embassy had brought these seedlings especially from the Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence in Karnal, Haryana for the school children.
Founder of Aarohan, Rani Patel, says the children in the school mainly hail from families of rural migrants. If they learn farming techniques, then it is something that they can always put to use in their lives.
“At this critical time, the drip irrigation system shared by the Israeli Embassy is going to prove a boon to the marginalized students of schools towards vocational skills. This is a dream project of Aarohan for imparting inclusive value education, awareness about Sustainable Development Goals to save water, environment and to fight against global warming,” she said.
In recent decades, cutting-edge innovations developed in Israel to tackle the water shortage have helped position Israel as a world leader in all aspects of water management. Israel is proud to share its expertise in water to promote water and food security around the world and especially with its precious friend India.
