Six Killed In Lucknow Road Mishap In Head-on Collision Between Two UPSRTC Buses

LUCKNOW || In a major road mishap in the state capital of Uttar Pradesh, six persons were killed and more than a dozen sustained injuries when two state-owned UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) rammed into each other, police said.

The ill-fated buses were plying between Lucknow-Hardoi and were coming from opposite directions when apparently a driver tried to overtake another.

The deceased include a bus driver as well. The injured are being treated at the trauma centre of the KGMU. Condition of five them is stated to be critical.

The mishap took place near Bajnagar village on the Kakori-Hardoi road. Both the buses were badly damaged due to the impact of the head on collision.

A truck driver, whose vehicle one of the bus drivers tried to overtake, told the police that the driver was in a very high speed and that he overtook him and before he could understand rammed into a bus coming from the other side. The truck also hit it from the rear.
