‘Ganga Aarti’ To Start At 13 Tributaries Of The Holy River In UP

Lucknow, May 6 (TNA) With the success of Ganga Aarti at the ghats of Kashi, Prayagraj and Bithoor ghats, the UP government has now okayed a proposal to hold similar activity at the ghats of 13 tributary rivers of the holy Ganges. The ghats on these sites will also be renovated.

In this regard, under the Ganga cleanliness campaign, the government has given instructions to the officials to preserve the river Ganga along with its tributaries. Under the scheme, along with beautifying the old ghats on the banks of the river, events like Ganga Mela will also be held in villages near the Ganga river.

Instructions have been given to the officials to prepare an action plan for these events and start work soon. An official spokesman said that under the scheme, a initiative has been taken to make the rivers which meet in the Ganges river pollution free. Villages, cities and colony residents on both sides of the river will be made aware of the sewage falling into these rivers and closing them.

There is a preparation to connect the local people socially, religiously, economically by making the ghats of rivers beautiful. The appearance of the ghats of 13 rivers including Ramganga, Betwa, Saryu, Rapti, Varuna, Kali, Yamuna, Hindon, Gargo, Ken, Gomti and Sai will be changed.
