11 Lakh Bank Employees To Strike Work Against Privatisation On December 16-17
Lucknow, December 14 (TNA) 11 lakh employees across the country have mobilized against the decision of the central government to privatize two nationalized banks. These include 9.34 lakh employees of nationalized banks and 1.66 lakh rural banks.
These employees will go on strike across the country including Lucknow on 16th and 17th December, due to which 1.18 lakh branches will remain under lockdown. In connection with this strike, in a press conference on Tuesday, Akhilesh Mohan, Pawan Kumar and Deep Bajpai, office bearers of United Forum of Bank Unions, jointly told that due to the two-day strike, transactions worth Rs 1200 crore will be affected in the banks of UP.
On the first day of strike in Lucknow, on December 16, the main branch of State Bank and on the second day on December 17, officers and employees of 900 banks will hold a demonstration in front of Indian Bank (formerly Allahabad Bank) Hazratganj. Combination Anil Srivastava and media in-charge Anil Tiwari etc. also participated in the press conference.
