1350 Buses To Be Added To The UP Roadways Fleet Soon

Lucknow, December 25 (TNA) Very soon 1350 more buses will be added to the fleet of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). All these buses will be of BS-6 model. The Transport Corporation has selected Tata Motors through tender for the purchase of buses. These buses will be purchased for approximately Rs 274 crore. At present the Transport Corporation has its own 12 thousand buses in the fleet.

Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh said that these buses being purchased are of high quality. There will be negligible pollution emissions in these buses made with modern technology. With their arrival, air pollution will also reduce.

He said that the rate of these buses being purchased through tender is Rs 1.03 lakh less than the old ones. This will save the corporation about Rs 14 crore. He said that with the arrival of these buses, the common people will be able to get good transport service.
